The town of Laxenburg in the Mödling district is around 20 kilometers from Vienna on the Schwechat river. The former summer imperial residence in the southern Vienna Woods has a lively history behind it.
Today it is famous for one of the largest preserved park and palace complexes in Austria. Whether strolling in imperial footsteps, shady walks, boat trips to Franzensburg or romantic picnics: Laxenburg is considered a particularly beautiful destination for young and old. Cyclists will also find a comprehensive network of cycle paths here.
Laxenburg Castle is one of the sights. If you have a longer stay in Vienna or in Austria in general, the castle is definitely a must see
Another positive aspect is that dogs are allowed in. If you are a dog owner yourself, you know that you are often very restricted when it comes to activities with dogs, because access with dogs is prohibited in many places.
Address: Schloßpl. 1, 2361 Laxenburg
