The House of the Sea – Aqua Terra Zoo features the diversity of the global oceans in one building. It houses the largest aquarium in Austria (with 300,000 liters) and is located inside a former Second World War flak tower.

Featuring 11 floors with numerous different sea animals, you can spend a wonderful afternoon with your family. On the 10th floor, you can see a hammerhead shark tank, while a ten-meter-long Atlantic tunnel can be found on the ground floor running in the middle of a huge basin. Discover the now almost-famous sea turtle “Puppi”. The tropical house and the crocodile park invite you to inspect the free-flying birds and running monkeys, crocodiles, and other animals. The terrarium department, home to numerous snakes and spiders, is also a must-see

  • Book Online first, can be large queues, great place to visit. You could definitely spend the full day here with kids. Loads to see, great variety of animals, nibbling fish 
  • A zoo with over 10,000 animals resulting from almost 7 decades of dedicated scientific work
  • you can admire a variety of animal species on 11 floors: sharks, rays, turtles on water and on land, lizards of all kinds, snakes, salt and freshwater fish, birds, flying foxes, various monkeys, insects, and a whole lot more
