Description

Burggarten is a public park located in the Innere Stadt district of Vienna, Austria. It was originally created in the 16th century as a private garden for the Habsburg dynasty, and was later opened to the public in the late 19th century.

The park is known for its well-manicured gardens, sculptures, and fountains. One of the most prominent features of Burggarten is the Palmenhaus, a large greenhouse that houses a variety of tropical plants and serves as a venue for events and exhibitions.

The Palmenhaus was designed by the architect Friedrich Ohmann and built in the Art Nouveau style in the late 19th century. In addition to the Palmenhaus, Burggarten also features several other notable landmarks, including the Mozart Memorial, a bronze statue of the composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, and the Schmetterlinghaus, a butterfly house that is home to a variety of exotic butterfly species.

Burggarten is a popular destination for both tourists and locals, who come to enjoy the park's tranquil atmosphere and scenic surroundings. It is open year-round and admission is free.
