The rooms in which Sigmund Freud lived and worked have been turned into exhibition object in the freshly renovated museum. This new approach lets us rediscover the founding father of psychoanalysis. We're sure that Freud would have enjoyed it.
The Sigmund Freud Museum at Berggasse 19 in Vienna’s Alsergrund district houses the former practice and apartment of the world-famous psychoanalyst. The small but lovely exhibition in the original premises primarily deals with the life of Freud and includes glimpses into his work. A special aura is attached to the museum, and it’s no wonder, as here, a genius also spent many years with his patients in these treatment rooms. And according to visitors, this aura can still be felt today. Like the opinion on the person himself, the opinion of the museum in Vienna is divided in an exciting way.
Visitors are led from room to room by an audio guide that tells their story. As a result, the 45 minutes to an hour and a half that you can spend in these relatively small premises passes quite quickly. Laid out with plenty of attention to detail, the museum presents the memory of an exceptional human being. Rumour has it that not only are the building and exhibition exciting to look at, but it is also interesting to observe their visitors.
